12Cr18Ni9 (S30210) is the oldest austenitic stainless steel, with good plasticity, toughness and cold workability in the solid state, and good corrosion resistance in oxidizing acids and atmospheric, water, steam and other media. Cold working has high strength, but elongation is slightly worse than 12Cr17Ni7. It is mainly used for structural parts and welded parts which do not require high corrosion resistance and strength, such as building exterior decoration materials; it can also be used for non-magnetic parts and parts of low-temperature devices. However, in the sensitized state or after welding, it has the tendency of intergranular corrosion and should not be used as welding structural material.
