Features and application areas.


* A ferritic-austenitic (duplex) stainless steel that combines many of the most beneficial properties of ferritic and austenitic steels; excellent resistance to pitting, crevice and uniform corrosion due to the high content of both chromium and molybdenum, and the bi-directional microstructure ensures that the steel has a high resistance to stress corrosion rupture.


* It has better plasticity, its hardening characteristics are similar to austenitic stainless steel, and it can undergo large cold deformation.

* It requires higher initial deformation force than S32205, in addition it is more alloyed than S32205, and its precipitation sensitivity is higher than S32205, which requires faster cooling rate.

Application areas.

* Piping of alkali solutions containing ammonia.

* Evaporator for formaldehyde production, cooler for dimethyl benzodicarboxylate.

* Seawater heat exchanger for oil refining/marine propeller.

* Submarine oil (gas) collector and transport pipeline.

* In fertilizer industry, cooler, condenser and tail gas preheater for nitrate ammonia production, etc.

* Gas distribution panels and filters for flue gas desulfurization devices in power stations.
